How fast does Slide-Easy make a post?
Slide-Easy, a Mac app that turns App Store reviews into Instagram Reels, takes about 185 seconds per finished post on an M4 Pro, measured with retries included. 30 posts take about 1 hour 35 minutes on an M4 Pro, and roughly 3 hours on a base M1 to M4 (an estimate, not a measurement). These figures were first published on 4 Oct 2026 on the Fastlane comparison.
How were the reviews collected?
- Apps. For each of 20 categories, a plain US App Store search ("habit tracker", "budget planner" and so on), keeping the first 5 apps in the right genre.
- Reviews. The newest reviews from Apple's public review data, up to 60 per app (3 pages of 20), US storefront only.
- Counting. Each topic is a plain regular expression over the review title and text. No model summarises sentiment. The script is
review_stats.py, under 80 lines of Python, run over the same cache as the category pages. - Privacy. No review text and no reviewer names are published here, only counts.
What are the limits?
- Recency. Apple's public data serves only the newest reviews, so this is a snapshot of autumn 2026 for most apps.
- US store only, and five apps per category, picked by App Store search order. One app can swing a category.
- Regex, not reading. Counts are lower bounds on how often a topic comes up, with some false positives.
- Reviews are not users. People who write reviews are the very happy and the very annoyed.
