Is Slide-Easy safe for my Instagram account?
Part of: Instagram marketing for indie apps
Slide-Easy posts through Instagram's official API, using a Meta developer app you own, at one post a day by default, and no post goes out without your OK unless you turn on Autopilot. Every post carries Instagram's AI label. No tool can promise Instagram will never limit an account; here is exactly what Slide-Easy does and doesn't do.
How does Slide-Easy post to Instagram?
There are two ways, and you pick per account.
| Save and post yourself | Connect your account | |
|---|---|---|
| Account type | Any | Professional (Business or Creator) |
| Setup | None | Your own Meta developer app, once, about 20 minutes |
| Who presses post | You, in the Instagram app, then you tap Mark posted | Slide-Easy, on your schedule, after your OK, while the app is open |
| AI label | You turn on Instagram's AI label as you post | Set on every post automatically |
| What it holds | Nothing | An access token in your Mac's Keychain, never your password |
When you connect, the posting goes straight from your Mac to Instagram's API. While a post goes out, a Cloudflare quick tunnel your Mac opens makes that post's images public for about a minute so Instagram can fetch them. If your Mac was asleep at posting time, it catches up when it wakes. Keep your Meta app in Development mode and add only your own Instagram accounts to it.
What does it never do?
- Ask for your Instagram password. It uses a token from the Meta app you created.
- Send your account, token or posts to a server of ours. There isn't one in the path: what it uses and where it's kept.
- Buy followers, likes or comments, or join engagement pods.
- Sell accounts or "warmed" accounts.
- Present an AI character as a real customer, or put a real review in a character's mouth.
Does it ever act without asking?
Posts: only if you turn on Autopilot, which is off by default. Without it, every post waits on the This week screen until you approve it, and you can skip or undo any post until it's live.
Comment replies: yes. While your account is connected, Slide-Easy reads new comments on your posts from the last 14 days and answers them in your page's voice: 20 words at most, no links, no hashtags, no medical words, and your app's name only if someone asks what it is. It skips spam and hostile comments, and checks each reply for the same banned claims as a post. Replying early is a ranking signal, which is why it does this. The reply is written by the writer you chose in Settings.
How does it label AI content?
Every post is made with fictional AI characters, and each one is labeled three ways:
- A caption line near the top that says the character is AI.
- Instagram's own AI flag, set through the API, so Instagram shows its AI label.
- IPTC/XMP metadata in every image and video saying it was made by AI (digital source type
trainedAlgorithmicMedia).
Since 31 August 2026, Instagram limits the reach of profiles built around an AI-generated person unless they carry the "AI-generated profile" label (TechCrunch). Labeled profiles aren't penalized. If the face of your page is an AI character, turn it on in Edit profile › AI-generated profile. The responsible-use page has the rules by country.
How often does it post?
One post a day by default. That's the pace of a person, and it's far below the number of posts Meta lets one account publish through the API in a rolling 24 hours (Meta's publishing limits).
- 3 to 5 posts a day on a new account looks like a bot.
- Go to 2 a day only once your posts reach people who don't follow you yet.
- Don't post the same post on several accounts: Instagram marks copies and each one reaches fewer people. Slide-Easy makes a fresh post for each account.
What is the warm-up plan?
Instagram watches what a new account does before it shows its posts to many people, so a brand-new account needs about a week of normal use first. The Learn screen in Slide-Easy gives you one day's list at a time:
| Day | What you do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Set it up: confirm the email, add a photo, a name and one line on what the page is about, turn on two-factor authentication, switch to a professional account, put your app's link in the bio. Then use it like a person would. |
| 2–3 | Just use it: 2 or 3 short sessions in your niche (about an hour in total), watch at least 10 videos about your people's problem to the end, like 20 to 30 posts, leave 3 to 5 real comments, follow 5 to 10 accounts your people follow. |
| 4–5 | One post a day that fits your niche but doesn't mention your app. |
| 6–7 | Your app's first posts, one a day. |
After that, the weekly reach check watches your numbers. As a rule of thumb, most posts should reach at least 200 people in their first day. One quiet post means nothing; if every post falls far below that, check in this order: a warning under Account Status in Instagram's settings, a copyrighted song, words Instagram limits (money promises, health claims), the same post on other accounts, or too many posts too soon. Fix it, post once a day for a week, and look again.
What stays on your Mac, and how do you remove it?
Your posts, their results and your Instagram token stay on your Mac; the token sits in the macOS Keychain. The maker of Slide-Easy never receives them. To disconnect, remove the account in Slide-Easy, then remove your Meta app in Instagram › Settings › Apps and websites. The data deletion page has every step, and the privacy policy lists what leaves your Mac.

Account safety FAQ
Can Slide-Easy get my Instagram account banned?
No tool can promise Instagram will never limit an account. Slide-Easy posts through Instagram's official API using your own Meta developer app, at one post a day by default. It labels every post as AI and asks you to warm up new accounts first. What usually gets accounts limited is spammy volume, copied posts and undisclosed AI personas, and the defaults avoid all three.
Does it need my Instagram password?
No. It uses an access token from your own Meta developer app, kept in your Mac's Keychain. You can revoke it anytime in Instagram › Settings › Apps and websites.
Will it post without asking me?
No, unless you turn on Autopilot, which is off by default. You can approve, skip or undo any post until it's live. The one thing it does on its own while connected is answer new comments with short replies.
Do I need a professional account?
Only for automatic posting, which needs a Business or Creator account. With a personal account, save each post and share it from the Instagram app.
